The last match of the season between the LMEGA and the Bank of England was played again at Wildernesse, near Sevenoaks on 8th October. On a perfect autumn day your team struggled from the start and despite a win by Jan Rommer and Yang Liu, and your Captain, Richie O’Neill and his partner Barry Watson scraping a half, those were the only points we could put on the board. The lunch score of 3 ½-1 ½ was going to be tough to overhaul in the afternoon.
Once again Jan Rommer stepped up and got a solid win playing with Secretary Steven Spencer, but the only remaining contribution was another half by Paul Shuter and Barry Watson, which left the LMEGA down 3-7 at the end of the day.
Next year’s match will be at West Byfleet as Wildernesse will host the annual match against the Sugar Association.
