In the morning four-ball better-ball matches, unfortunately the only winners for the LME were Rob Draisey & Colin Griffith, so the LCH enjoyed their lunch with a very healthy 3-1 lead.
However Captain Chris decided to stick with exactly the same combinations in the afternoon foursomes matches and was fully vindicated as Rob & Colin, Alex Heath & David Hardy and Bill Smit & Edward Sawbridge all won very close matches. In the crucial match Captain Chris, able supported by Yang Liu, managed a dramatic halved match (it should be pointed out that having been 4 up with 7 to play Chris must have felt sorry for his previous employers!!), which meant a great comeback by the LME to win the match overall by the close margin of 4 1/2 points to 3 1/2.
Despite the weather everyone had a very enjoyable day (with foursomes the much preferred format to singles in the afternoon) and the clear view was this match should continue in the future despite the change of Clearing Houses at the LME later this month.
